John has been playing soccer since he was 5 years old. As a goalkeeper he played for FK Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic. He played for the club until U19 when he moved to play fourth division in Czech Republic.
During his active career, he started with goalkeeping coaching at his youth club FK Mlada Boleslav where he worked with youth goalkeepers. After arriving to Vancouver John joined VSA to continue his coaching journey as a skills coach.
